Hello my bold beautiful beasts this is D-girl comin at you with the hottest details of her summer workout routine and believe me, the details are hot hot hot! (Really you guys, the weather is getting quite toasty is Chicago) anyway, since I am slow about putting up my responses I'm just going to do a recap of what I've been up to these days since workouts began.
I did do some pre-summer workouts which included doing sprints, crossfit work and ab stuff. I really put things into gear though once June 11 started around the corner. In general my Monday and Wednesday workouts are replaced with my rugby practice. I play for the North Shore Women's Rugby team in Chicago. They're starting their seven's game and are preparing compete for nationals. in general I would like to squeeze in some more workouts on my practice days, but working eight hour shifts as a waitress and then turning around to play rugby is tough, but the summer is still young and my body is still getting used to working and doing intense physical activities. I'll work it out. Anyway here's a description of what I've done so far.
Tuesday
I took the challenge of doing the 60 m hill workout. The closet hill around me is Mount Trashmore in Evanston. A steep hill of 20m. It even has its own wikipedia page. Anyway I sprinted up to the top sixteen times. I was supposed to do three sets of eight, but I could only get through two, so now I have an idea of where I am at now and I desire to be able to do all three sets plus more to make up for the fact that the hill isn't 60 meters, but hey it is pretty steep.
Thursday
Today we were supposed to run five to six miles so I kinda did that, but I really wanted to revisit the hill, so this is what I did. Sprint up the hill, at the top do twenty burpies, go down the hill, run the width of two soccer fields, which is about 200 yrds. I wanted to do five sets---I only did three. I really want to work my way up to anywhere from five to ten sets.
My goal for this summer is just to go into beast mode. I like to create my own workouts that I know will challenge me and push my buttons.
