The Village People Were Wrong

It’s not fun to stay at the YMCA. It’s actually quite confusing! My friend and I arrive there, only to be thoroughly blown away by their fancy equipment. The bikes had built in fans and iPod speakers!!! Then again, we did go to the Hollywood Y…

Anyways, because we didn’t know this Y, we had a difficult time finding the equipment. We spent nearly two hours there and had done half the list for Monday. We went back today and were more successful in doing the workouts. However, because we had been doing a lot of lower body work outs, we decided to focus on upper body while our free membership at the Y is good (gym memberships are also expensive!)

Monday:

15 min bike
hang cleans
back squats (front ones are dangerous for my wrists I found out)
planks
bench press
bent over rows with dumbells
30 sec on, 30 off bike

Tuesday:

15 min bike
30 secs on/off:
push ups
sit ups (couldn’t find appropriate weights. either too light or too heavy for ab crunches)
squats
dumbbells (used 12lb weights. They had no 15!!)
bent over rows
no room or bars for landmines so lat pulls instead
shoulder press

We’re probably going to keep mixing up the workouts so that we can do as much equipment-needed as possible, especially upper body.
Also, the fitness testing is giving me nightmares….but actually.
