Don't yoou know that you are aaa shooting staaaar. . .

Silly? yes.
But seriously, serious.
That's me in the red.
And yes, Thuy-Mai Nguyen next to me, looking uncharacteristically excited.

Why is she so excited?

Because she knows that we are about to go run 6 miles of fartlek. (is that how you spell it? Doesn't look right. Fartleck? idk it's a disgusting name anyway, for a disgusting activity)
ANyway.
its supposed to be that thing with the
15second sprint, 30s jog x 8,
30s sprint, 30s jog x 8,
1 min sprint 30s jog x 6.
We modified this workout a bit.

So we set out at approximately 3:30 pm. 29 degrees Fahrenheit, great day for a run.
We did finish the 15 second sprints x 8. And there are lots of hills in Maine, keep in mind. We arrived at our turn-around point, a lake about 3 miles from my house, and then went out onto the ice and did the lunge workout from Tuesday:

24 forward lunges
24 backward lunges
24 lateral lunges
24 squats
6 squat jumps

Mai says this is what she will remember about Maine. Doing squats on that huge mass of ice against a backdrop of bare trees. No snow. Dreary. Needless to say, we felt good about this lunge workout.
However, it prevented us from doing more sprints on the way back. Do you blame us?

Also we saw a shooting star on the way back. It was HUGE and looked like it was in the field next to us and it burned for like actually more than 2 seconds. Really cool but I kind of got scared for a second because it's 2012 and all.

Anyway I would call our run home a 3 mile cool-down. Which you know is important when it's 29 degrees out.
But I am proud to report that we finished strong with a final 50 meter hill sprint to my house.
